Question of the week

Earlier this week, I bought The Shawshank Redemption on DVD. This is my favorite movie of all time. I remember when I first saw it in the summer of 1995. Like many others, I didn't discover the movie until it came out on video. I was going through a rough time in my life then, and the movies final 30 minutes just uplifted me. It has helped me through many times since. What movie do you find uplifting or could watch over and over again and what is the reason?

City of Angels is my feel-good movie. It reminds me to savor my life.

I love Shawshank Redemption, too. I used to read the novella with my students to try to hook them on reading.

Good choice. I like "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken". I think her story is so inspiring, and I also love the diving horses.

While I liked Shawshank I really didn't like the bit when the guy got beaten to death by the guards.I find that kind of things hard to stomach as I know it can really happen.

It may sound odd,but I actually think the Lord of the Rings trilogy is uplifiting. No one is perfect in it,but all struggle to overcome fears and weaknesses.Sweet home alabama is a real feel good......but it has toomuch blasphemy....and I loved the strength of character in Erin Brokovich.....but not all the swearing. Hmmmmm, don'tknow if any film holds a real significance for me though.
